Capabilities, not
dependencies.
A Skill is a behavioral module that gives your AI agent specialized expertise for a specific domain. The same agent becomes your branded content writer, CRM operator, or financial analyst — no new tools, no new subscriptions.

How it activates
User sends a request
A message, a file, a task — anything
Agent reads the SKILL.md
Persona, workflow, domain constraints load into context
Specialist output delivered
On-brand, on-format — no re-prompting required
Your business logic is encoded once, not re-prompted every session. The standards you've developed become part of the system — accessible on demand, consistent every time.
What your agent can become
Four domains, 19 client-accessible skills. Each category represents a specialist mode your agent can enter on demand.
Content Creation
Branded slide decks, AI video production, Excel with analytics, background music. Skills that turn a brief into a polished deliverable, enforcing your standards every time.
Research & Intelligence
Market intelligence, digital presence analysis, financial data, knowledge mapping. Output that used to take hours, delivered in minutes.
AI Operations
Skills that build skills — the meta-layer that lets you design, specify, and deploy new capabilities without starting from zero.
Business Automation
CRM updates, transcript analysis, follow-up sequences, workspace standards — operational intelligence wired directly into your workflows.
Harlem Labs Custom
Your business logic, encoded.
These are the skills built for Harlem Labs' own operations — encoding voice, workflows, and standards. Every client engagement ends with custom skills built specifically for their business. The IP stays with them.
harlem-labs-deck-builder

Three ways to engage
Most operators start with the Audit, move into the Build, then use Training so their team can maintain the stack independently.
Skills Audit
We map your current workflows, identify the highest-repetition tasks, and produce a prioritized skills inventory specific to your operation.
Deliverables
- Workflow audit across your key operational areas
- Skills inventory: name, trigger, expected output, complexity
- Prioritized build roadmap (3–5 skills)
- Starter SKILL.md template configured for your stack
Best for
Operators who want to understand their skill opportunity before committing to a build.
Timeline
1–2 weeks
Skills Build
We write, test, and deploy custom SKILL.md files into your live agent environment — encoding your business logic, brand voice, and workflow standards.
Deliverables
- Fully written SKILL.md per skill (frontmatter + body + bundled resources)
- Installation into your live agent environment
- Testing against 3+ real task examples
- Documentation: trigger conditions, expected output, edge cases
Best for
Operators who have a clear skills inventory and want them built to production standard.
Timeline
1–2 weeks per skill
Skills Training
We run your team through the five-module AI Skills curriculum — live or async. Participants leave able to read, adapt, and extend skill files independently.
Deliverables
- Five-module curriculum: concepts → reading → building → custom business skills
- Recorded session for async team members
- Reference guide for your specific skill stack
- Q&A and exercise review with your engagement lead
Best for
Teams who want to own and extend their skill stack without external support.

Common questions
What is an AI Agent Skill?
A Skill is a Markdown file (SKILL.md) that loads into your AI agent's context at the right moment, giving it specialized expertise for a specific domain. The same agent becomes your branded content writer, your CRM operator, or your financial analyst depending on which skill is active.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Skills are written in plain Markdown. If you can write a procedure document, you can write a skill. The Build tier handles all technical installation.
Do I need to complete the Audit before a Build?
Not required — but recommended for operators who are new to skills. If you already have a clear picture of which skills you need, we can go straight to the Build.
Who owns the skills after delivery?
You do. Every custom skill built for your operation belongs to your business. The files live in your environment, not ours.
How is this different from prompt engineering?
Prompts are typed fresh each session. Skills encode your logic once — then activate automatically when the right condition is met. The difference is having a trained employee versus re-explaining the job every morning.
